Basketball Recap: Bayfield Comes Up Short

Bayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Butternut Midgets and fell 75-25. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Midgets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-29 back in January.

Bayfield's loss came despite strong showings from Stella Gordon and Elvira Albert. Gordon dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards, while Albert posted eight points. Those eight points gave Albert a new career-high.

Bayfield's record now sits at 2-20. As for Butternut, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Bayfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-42 win against Fond du Lac Ojibwe O on the 15th. As for Butternut, they will face off against Drummond at 7:15 p.m. on February 20th.
