St. Anne-Pacelli took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Newnan Cougars. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won five matches in a row dating back to last season.
St. Anne-Pacelli was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (103-89), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 12-25, 12-25, 15-13.
St. Anne-Pacelli was led to victory by Malia Resnick and Elly Jane Haag. Resnick had six aces, while Haag had five aces. Those six aces gave Resnick a new career-high.
