Basketball Recap: Meridian Gets the Win

Pinconning typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Meridian proved too difficult a challenge. They pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over the Pinconning Spartans. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 449th, while the Spartans are ranked 184th).

Meridian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pinconning, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian will venture away from home to take on Gladwin at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pinconning, they will head out to face off against Valley Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
