Basketball Recap: Southeast Career Tech's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After only 27 points in their last match, Southeast Career Tech made sure to put some points up on the board against Pinecrest Academy Cadence on Thursday. The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners walked away with a 55-45 victory over the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Roadrunners' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Southeast Career Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Edward Arellano, who posted 20 points. Arellano is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Rikkie Rodriguez, who earned 14 points.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Guerrero, who put up 11 points and three blocks. Guerrero also grabbed two steals, marking his first of the season. Nsikan Inwek was another key player, putting up six points along with six boards and three steals.

With the win, Southeast Career Tech broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15.

Southeast Career Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-31 victory against Eldorado on the 17th. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-33 defeat against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon on the 17th.
