Basketball Recap: Huguenot Comes Up Short

Huguenot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Powhatan Indians. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Indians are ranked 143rd).

Huguenot's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Powhatan, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Huguenot will welcome Clover Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Powhatan, they will venture away from home to challenge L.C. Bird at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. L.C. Bird is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.
