Baseball Recap: Delta Victorious

Delta came out on top against New Castle on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Eagles took their matchup against the Trojans 9-5. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Myles Enos looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Everrett Linn was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Delta's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Chase Ritchie also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory got Delta back to even at 4-4. As for New Castle, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Delta will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
