Softball Recap: Mt. St. Joseph Academy Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on April 10th. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mt. St. Joseph Academy pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Villa Maria Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
