Softball Recap: Fillmore Has No Trouble Against Hinsdale Central

While Fillmore put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Hinsdale Central. The Eagles blew past the Bobcats 15-0. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Mylee Miller made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Morghyn Ross was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and six RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mattie McCumiskey, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Fillmore and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Hinsdale Central, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Fillmore will square off against Friendship at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hinsdale Central, they will take on Genesee Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
