Laguardia had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with an 8-4 win over Roosevelt. This was payback for Laguardia, who suffered an 11-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

JESSY McCOY made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McCOY was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Laguardia let GABE GOODMAN and JOHN ZIGA run wild. GOODMAN scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-3, while ZIGA scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of AUGUST HOLDEN RICHARDS, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Laguardia will have a chance to go back-to-back against Roosevelt: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
