Softball Recap: Camden County Bruins vs. South Columbus Stallions

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Camden County had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the South Columbus Stallions a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Camden County, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Audrey Jones was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Ruby Arnette was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a double.

The victory (which was Camden County's ninth in a row) raised their record to 20-2. As for South Columbus, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Camden County has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Martin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Martin County: 1, Camden County: 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. South Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
