Basketball Recap: Conner Rios' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Joaquin over Garrison

Joaquin lost against Garrison back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Joaquin Rams lost 50-26 to the Garrison Bulldogs. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

Joaquin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Conner Rios, who posted 12 points. That was a full 46.2% of Joaquin's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was TJ Hawkins, who put up nine points.

Joaquin's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Garrison, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Joaquin will take on Gary at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Garrison, they will welcome Waskom at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
