Preview: Pawhuska Huskies vs. Pawnee Black Bears
The Pawhuska Huskies will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Pawnee Black Bears at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pawhuska comes in on three and Pawnee on 13.
Pawhuska's and Dewey's contest on Friday was close at halftime, but Pawhuska turned on the heat in the second half with 27 points. Everything went Pawhuska's way against Dewey as Pawhuska made off with a 47-27 victory. Given Pawhuska's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Dewey is ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fallon Bowman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last six times she's played. Maggie Green was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Pawnee earned a 39-29 victory over Newkirk on Friday.
Pawhuska is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Pawnee, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
