Baseball Game Preview: Miller Buccaneers vs. Flour Bluff Hornets

For the second straight game, Miller will face off against Flour Bluff. The Buccaneers will head out to square off against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Miller has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 7.

Miller came up short against Flour Bluff on Monday, falling 21-1.

For Flour Bluff's part, Fisher Davis looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Davis posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Flour Bluff got a massive performance out of Bradley Terry, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Terry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Santiago Sutil, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Flour Bluff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.

Flour Bluff has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Miller, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-21.
