Serena had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans by a score of 2-0. The Huskers were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Titans, so the Huskers were just returning the favor.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Serena was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13.

Anna Hjerpe paced Serena's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hjerpe got some help from Rebekah Shugrue and her 15 assists. Trinity Weber controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Serena's win bumped their record up to 12-5-1. As for Illinois Math & Science Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Serena will square off against rival Newark at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Illinois Math & Science Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Somonauk at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
