It was a good run, but Marengo unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 53-43 to the Shields Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Marengo of the 75-55 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2017.

Marengo's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Shields, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marengo will host Shields at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shields, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sweet Water at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
