Baseball Recap: Philip Simmons Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Philip Simmons can now relate to. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-2 defeat on Tuesday.

Philip Simmons' defeat dropped their record down to 19-15. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Philip Simmons nor Batesburg-Leesville have any future games scheduled.
