Soccer Game Preview: Highlands vs. Polk County

The Highlands Highlanders will head out to challenge the Polk County Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Highlands proved they can win big on Monday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Cherokee 3-2.

Meanwhile, Polk County entered their tilt with R-S Central on Thursday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Hilltoppers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The Wolverines' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

Polk County's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Highlands, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Highlands came up short against Polk County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Highlands avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
