Basketball Recap: Lake Mead Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Lake Mead Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They were dealt a 64-16 loss at the hands of the Western Warriors.

Despite the defeat, Lake Mead Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gia Salazar posted eight points.

Western was led to victory by Laila Lwaba and Kyra Pace. Lwaba shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double with 30 points and 11 assists, while Pace dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Those 11 assists gave Lwaba a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ray B, who had two points and seven steals.

Lake Mead Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Western, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Lake Mead Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-14 defeat against Canyon Springs on the 29th. As for Western, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-38 victory against Valley on the 29th.
