Basketball Recap: Chaska Comes Up Short at Home Against Eden Prairie

Chaska unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 51-39 to the Eden Prairie Eagles on Thursday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

Eden Prairie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaz Hooks, who posted 14 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nesa Namjoshi, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Eden Prairie and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Chaska will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Waconia at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Eden Prairie, they will head out to face off against Eagan at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
