Basketball Recap: Dugway Comes Up Short

Dugway's tournament run continued when they took on Salt Lake Academy on Friday. The Dugway Mustangs took a blow against the Salt Lake Academy Griffins, falling 75-42. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dugway's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tanner Thackeray, who posted 24 points, and Gary Williams Jr, who earned 15 points. The contest was Thackeray's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Braylon Brock continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Salt Lake Academy, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Brock a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Johnson, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and six assists.

Dugway's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Salt Lake Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Dugway wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 34-23 win against Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams on the 21st. As for Salt Lake Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-33 victory against Mount Vernon on the 21st.
