Preview: Carolina Forest Panthers vs. Sumter Gamecocks
Carolina Forest is 2-8 against Sumter since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Carolina Forest Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Sumter Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. Carolina Forest is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Carolina Forest came up short against Conway and fell 53-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carolina Forest in their matchups with Conway: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Carolina Forest got a solid performance out of Daniel Allen, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Allen has scored all season.
Meanwhile, even though Hilton Head Christian Academy scored an imposing 63 points on Monday, Sumter still came out on top. Sumter managed a 67-63 victory over Hilton Head Christian Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sumter.
Carolina Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Sumter, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Carolina Forest came up short against Sumter in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 51-47. Can Carolina Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
