Soccer Game Preview: Ripon Christian vs. Sonora

The Ripon Christian Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Sonora Wildcats at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Ripon Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Friday, it was close, but Ripon Christian sidestepped Orestimba for a 5-4 victory.

Ripon Christian hit Orestimba with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Noah Debruyn (2), Drew Meester (2), and Ben Miller.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Sonora was forced to settle for a draw. They and Ripon finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

Ripon Christian pushed their record up to 9-4-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matchups. Sonora's draw gives them a new season record of 4-13-1.

Ripon Christian beat Sonora 5-3 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ripon Christian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
