Scarborough put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Thornton Academy Trojans. That's more bragging rights for the Red Storm, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Erik Swenson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Fallona, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayson Cyr, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Scarborough pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Thornton Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-1.

Scarborough and Thornton Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. The Red Storm will challenge Noble at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 55). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Scarborough 0.8, the Knights 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Thornton Academy (ranked 25th) will meet Windham (ranked 100th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
