Basketball Game Preview: Switzerland County Pacers vs. East Central Trojans

The Switzerland County Pacers are taking a road trip to challenge the East Central Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Switzerland County has three straight victories, East Central has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Switzerland County was able to grind out a solid win over Rising Sun, taking the game 59-51.

Switzerland County relied on the efforts of Cam Craig, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards, and Isaac Williams, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most boards Williams has posted since back in December of 2023. Corbin Craig was another key player, putting up four points.

Switzerland County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, East Central played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Dixie Heights, falling 55-31.

Switzerland County will have to keep a close watch on Cole Reynolds and Peyton Hofer, a pair of players who had a big impact on East Central's prior game. Reynolds posted ten points and three steals, while Hofer had 12 points and three steals.

Switzerland County's record is now 4-1. As for East Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Switzerland County suffered a grim 67-43 defeat to East Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2017. Can Switzerland County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
