Baseball Recap: Nolensville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Nolensville dropped their record down to 16-10 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklin Admirals. Surprisingly, this marked the Knights' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Franklin, they moved to 9-20 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. The game was the first time they have beaten Nolensville on their field since March 23, 2022.

For Franklin's part, the result came thanks to Davis Williams's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. Williams also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Admirals are undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-20 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Henry Hammet was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Spring, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Nolensville and Franklin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Knights will take on Rossview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (36 vs. 2). Meanwhile, Franklin (ranked 116th) will meet Hendersonville (ranked 35th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
