Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Caya Stillings and Kelsey Olehy Lead Faith Christian to Victory

Faith Christian had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Clinton Prairie Gophers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Faith Christian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-10, 25-13.

Leading Faith Christian to victory were Kelsey Olehy and Caya Stillings. Olehy had four digs and three aces, while Stillings had five digs and three aces. What's more, Olehy racked up 15 assists, the most she's had over her last nine contests.

They weren't the only good server: Faith Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive games.

Clinton Prairie's loss came despite strong showings from Cambell Carter and Alexis Perez. Carter had 12 digs, while Perez had 14 assists and six digs. Carter is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Faith Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Clinton Prairie, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Faith Christian and Clinton Prairie will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will challenge rival North Newton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie is set to face off against their familiar foe Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
