After losing to Zeigler-Royalton the last time they met, Goreville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Blackcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  victory over the Tornadoes  on Tuesday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Blackcats.
 Breanna (Brea) Suits spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on four hits.
 At the plate,  Ellie Tripp was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  RBI,  and one  double. That  home run was  her first of the season.
Goreville's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Zeigler-Royalton, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road.
 Coming up, Goreville will challenge Carrier Mills-Stonefort at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11  runs per game on average), something the Blackcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. Zeigler-Royalton will be paying especially close attention to Goreville's  game: after Goreville faces off against Carrier Mills-Stonefort, they'll take on Zeigler-Royalton again  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
