Softball Preview: South Webster Jeeps vs. Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs
The South Webster Jeeps will head out to face off against the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, South Webster had just enough and edged out Unioto 3-1.
Jaiden White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaylee House, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Lynchburg-Clay put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington by a score of 5-0. South Webster took their win against Lynchburg-Clay in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Webster since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
