Basketball Recap: Sugar Creek Charter's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Sugar Creek Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 73-62 to the Carolina International Comets. The Wildcats lost against the Comets in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 78-41 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Sugar Creek Charter lost, don't look at Terry Watson. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 12 en route to 23 points and five rebounds. Corde Harrison was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Carolina International's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from KJ Shouse Jr., who went 9 of 10 on his way to 19 points and five boards. Shouse Jr.'s evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Griffin, who went 7 for 17 en route to 19 points.

Sugar Creek Charter's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Carolina International, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Sugar Creek Charter has already played their next contest, a 64-52 win against Valor Preparatory Academy on the 17th. As for Carolina International, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-66 victory against Jackson Day on the 17th.
