Basketball Recap: Manatee Takes a Loss

Manatee came into this matchup off a tough 24-point defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Bayshore Bruins by a score of 63-60 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hurricanes have suffered against the Bruins since January 9, 2018.

Bayshore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaiden Friedman out in front who posted 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. Those seven boards gave Friedman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamale Bane, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Manatee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bayshore, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Manatee has already played their next matchup, an 86-44 win against Families Instructing Students HomeSchool on the 21st. As for Bayshore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-22 loss against Boca Ciega on the 21st.
