Basketball Recap: Jai'saun Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rosedale Christian Academy over Riverdale Baptist

Rosedale Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 64-55 to the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders. The Rosedale Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Rosedale Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jai'saun Williams, who went 8 for 15 en route to 24 points. Williams has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Keyon Williams, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Rosedale Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverdale Baptist only racked up two assists.

Riverdale Baptist got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Giovonni Sanford out in front who went 7 of 13 to rack up 16 points and three steals. That's the most steals Sanford has posted since back in December of 2024. Jayden Kitchens was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Rosedale Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Riverdale Baptist, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Rosedale Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 88-65 defeat against Evergreen Christian on the 10th. As for Riverdale Baptist, they have also already played their next game, a 76-66 loss against Clinton Grace Christian on the 10th.
