Baseball Recap: Union Catholic Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Union Catholic won the last time they faced Plainfield and things went their way on Saturday too. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Cardinals. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Jake Revuelta looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Brayden Morrison was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Brian McCabe was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Union Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Union Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Plainfield, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8.
