Basketball Recap: Sumter Central Takes a Loss

Sumter Central and Midfield squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Sumter Central had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Midfield Patriots, falling 80-40. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-17.

Armonie Franklin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Midfield, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten assists. Franklin continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Robinson, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 16 points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Sumter Central's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Midfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Sumter Central nor Midfield have any future games scheduled.
