Basketball Recap: Galena Comes Up Short

Galena was the 50-41 winner over Susitna Valley when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Galena Hawks took a 65-46 bruising from the Susitna Valley Rams on Saturday. The Hawks' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Galena's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Susitna Valley, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Galena will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Jimmy Huntington at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Susitna Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-38 win against Unalaska on the 20th.
