Preview: Meridian Mustangs vs. Superior Wildcats
Meridian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Superior Wildcats on Friday. Superior took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Meridian, who comes in off a win.
Even though Meridian has not done well against Sterling recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Meridian came out on top against Sterling by a score of 47-35. The victory was just what Meridian needed coming off of a 62-21 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Superior, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They fell just short of Blue Hill by a score of 42-40. Superior has struggled against Blue Hill recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Superior saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dayne Clark, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, was perhaps the best of all. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Mason Korb, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
The win got Meridian back to even at 2-2. As for Superior, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
