Baseball Game Preview: South Plantation Paladins vs. Plantation Colonels

South Plantation is 8-2 against Plantation since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Paladins will welcome the Colonels at 3:45 p.m. South Plantation is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

South Plantation took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Monarch, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Paladins had just enough and edged out the Knights 6-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Paladins as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

John McDevitt was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of South Plantation's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). McDevitt was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Brady Gollan was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

South Plantation kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Plantation's offense. They lost 11-0 to Boyd Anderson on Tuesday.

Plantation's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for South Plantation, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Everything went South Plantation's way against Plantation when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as South Plantation made off with a 17-0 win. Do the Paladins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colonels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
