Baseball Recap: Altoona Takes a Loss

If Altoona was riding high fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Chambersburg on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mountain Lions came up short against the Cumberland Valley Eagles on Tuesday, falling 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mountain Lions have suffered against the Eagles since April 20, 2021.

Altoona saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Albright, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Altoona's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Cumberland Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

While Altoona had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
