Softball Recap: South Harrison Find Success

South Harrison lost to Williamstown back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Hawks came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Ava Louk made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexas Talbott, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

South Harrison's record is now 6-10. As for Williamstown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

South Harrison will challenge Elkins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Williamstown, they will face off against Nitro at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
