Softball Game Preview: Bishop Amat Lancers vs. Saint Joseph Jesters

Bishop Amat is 9-1 against Saint Joseph since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Bishop Amat will host Saint Joseph at 3:15 p.m. Bishop Amat is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, Bishop Amat made easy work of Saint Joseph and carried off an 11-2 victory. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Jesters recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Samantha Garcia was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run.

In other batting news, Bishop Amat got a massive performance out of Julyssa Jimenez, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Jimenez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Arriana Saldivar, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Bishop Amat was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. They are 9-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Bishop Amat's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Saint Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
