Baseball Game Preview: La Grange Leopards vs. Bellville Brahmas

La Grange is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will venture away from home to square off against the Bellville Brahmas at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

La Grange was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Luling last Tuesday. La Grange was the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over Luling. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Leopards this season.

Bellville not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st. They blew past Sealy 8-1.

With the victory, La Grange broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Bellville, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

La Grange came out on top in a nail-biter against Bellville in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Grange since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
