Baseball Recap: Marshall Extends Winning Streak to 26

Marshall strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They had just enough and edged out the Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] Wolverines 4-2. The Hilltoppers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Marshall's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia], they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will venture away from home to face off against Minnehaha Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia], they will head out to square off against South Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
