Football Recap: Anna-Jonesboro Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Anna-Jonesboro's offense. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Massac County Patriots on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.

Massac County's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Dee Carruthers and Caleb Barnard. Carruthers rushed for 145 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.1 yards per carry while Barnard gained 154 total yards and two touchdowns.

Anna-Jonesboro's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Massac County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Anna-Jonesboro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 57-14 defeat against Nashville on the 19th. As for Massac County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 35-21 loss against Murphysboro on the 19th.
