Baseball Game Preview: Valley Tigers vs. Ankeny Hawks

The Valley Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Ankeny Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Valley comes in on four and Ankeny on seven.

Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Iowa's top teams: Ankeny Centennial, who was ranked 13th at the time (Valley was ranked 12th). The Tigers blew past the Jaguars 8-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Ankeny sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday.

Ankeny pushed their record up to 14-19 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Valley, their win bumped their record up to 21-12.

Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Ankeny when the teams last played back in June, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
