Softball Recap: Seffner Christian Has No Trouble Against Indian Rocks Christian

Seffner Christian never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Indian Rocks Christian on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-4 victory. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Allison Baston made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Eliana Serrano was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tenley Newman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Seffner Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory got Seffner Christian back to even at 6-6. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Coming up, Seffner Christian will challenge Grace Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will face off against Clearwater at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
