Volleyball Recap: 15 Straight Home Wins for Riverside-Durham

The Riverside-Durham Pirates made easy work of the Orange Panthers on Monday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Riverside-Durham never let Orange on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-12, 25-17.

Sky Russell paced Riverside-Durham's offense, picking up ten kills. Russell got some help from Jacob Feller and his 24 assists. Feller was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Riverside-Durham's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Orange, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside-Durham will face off against Millbrook at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Millbrook will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Riverside-Durham surely won't give up without a fight. As for Orange, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Orange Panthers take on East Chapel Hill Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
