Roosevelt came tearing into Monday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Des Moines East Scarlets a 17-0 shutout. The Riders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Des Moines East, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
