Preview: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Miyamura Patriots
Bloomfield and Miyamura are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Bloomfield Bobcats will be playing at home against the Miyamura Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bloomfield has three straight victories, Miyamura has 20 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bloomfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gallup and snuck past 65-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Bloomfield has posted since January 6th.
It was another big night for Andrew Florez, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Bloomfield's points. Sam Slivers was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Miyamura ended up a good deal behind Kirtland Central on Saturday and lost 57-42. Miyamura has not had much luck with Kirtland Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Bloomfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season. As for Miyamura, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-20.
Bloomfield didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Miyamura in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win. Will Bloomfield repeat their success, or does Miyamura have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
