Preview: Grapeland Sandies vs. Hudson Hornets
The Grapeland Sandies will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Hudson Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Grapeland on the road against Corrigan-Camden as the team secured a 48-6 win. That looming 48-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Grapeland yet this season.
Grapeland relied on the efforts of Brylei Howard, who scored 15 points along with five steals, and Mikayla Woods, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Howard scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Anna Cutshaw, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Hudson humbled Dayton with a 56-21 victory. Given Hudson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 510th, while Dayton is ranked 1096th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grapeland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Hudson, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
