Football Recap: Holland Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Holland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 22-21 heartbreaker at the hands of the Thornapple Kellogg Trojans. The Maroons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Holland Christian still got an impressive performance from Simon Grotenhuis, who picked up 82 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Grotenhuis also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, marking his first of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Micah Dock, who rushed for 30 yards and one score, and also threw for 99 yards and one touchdown. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Holland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Thornapple Kellogg, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holland Christian will host Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Thornapple Kellogg, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wyoming at 7:00 p.m. The Trojans will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.88 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
