Soccer Game Preview: Marana vs. Sunnyside

Marana is 0-10 against Sunnyside since January of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Marana Tigers will welcome the Sunnyside Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m.

Marana is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Friday. They came up short against Rincon/University, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Sunnyside was able to grind out a solid victory over Tucson High Magnet School on Friday, taking the game 4-2. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while the Badgers are ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sunnyside hit Tucson High Magnet School with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aaron Abarca (2), Adrian Gutierrez, and Ruben Arballo.

Sunnyside is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 50 goals over those ten games. As for Marana, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
